Egyptian Football Association President Gamal Allam announced that the Liverpool star and captain of the first national team Mohamed SalahHe will be part of the Olympic team at the Paris Olympic Games next summer.

Allam said during a cultural symposium organized by the federation on Thursday: “Salah wants to play with the Olympic team and he will be there,” and Brazilian Rogero Micale, coach of the Olympic team, will soon announce the names of the three major players participating in the Paris Olympics.

Each team has the right to field three players over the age of 23 in the men’s football competition scheduled between July 24 and August 9. The Egyptian national team is supervised by Mikali, who led his country to gold in the football competition at the 2016 Rio Olympics on home soil.

Egypt was in the third group alongside Spain, the Dominican Republic and a qualified team from the Asian continent.

Salah (31 years old) has so far devoid of any title with the senior Egyptian national team, as he finished runner-up in the African Cup of Nations in 2017 and 2021, but he has a rich history with Liverpool and won the Champions League in 2019 and the English Premier League in 2020.

Salah was absent from the last list of the new coach, Hossam Hassan, which played a friendly four-way tournament in Cairo and lost its final match to Croatia on Wednesday (2-4), after a request from the player himself and his team, Liverpool, because he was not fully prepared.
